Elton John recently opened up about his struggle with vision loss. During the opening night of his new musical, “The Devil Wears Prada,” in London, the legendary musician revealed he couldn’t attend many previews due to his eyesight issues.

The 77-year-old singer shared that he lost most of his vision after contracting an infection, leaving him with limited sight in one eye. He expressed his difficulty in seeing the performance but emphasized his enjoyment of the music.

John wrote the musical score for “The Devil Wears Prada,” which is based on the 2006 film about a young journalist working at a high-fashion magazine. The London production stars Vanessa Williams as Miranda Priestly, originally portrayed by Meryl Streep in the movie.

The event was a fundraiser for the Elton John AIDS Foundation and attracted many celebrities and fashion icons, including designer Donatella Versace and former Vogue editor Anna Wintour, who inspired the character of Miranda Priestly. Wintour praised the musical, calling it “entertaining.”
